Municipalities

Technology for Maine towns and cities

Town offices run on the same technology enterprises do — with a fraction of the staff and a budget the public votes on. We have been doing this work in Maine since 1988.

We already work in the public sector

Wolf Technology Group brings a 20+ year history of providing Telephony, Broadband and IT solutions to small, medium and enterprise business, educational institutions, and government clients.

Our roots go back to 1988, when our core business was the sale and service of PBX and Key telephone systems along with voice and data cabling — the exact equipment still sitting in a lot of Maine town halls. We know what it takes to move that forward without ripping everything out at once, and we are based right here in Westbrook.

What towns come to us for

Every service below is one we deliver today — framed for how a municipality actually uses it.

☎️

Town office phone systems

Our UnifiedBX system integrates with the carrier connections towns already have — SIP Trunks, PRI, T1 and POTS lines — so you are not forced to break an existing contract to modernize.

One accountable vendor

The usual municipal setup is a phone vendor, a cabling contractor, an internet provider and whoever the town has been calling for computer problems — and when something breaks, each one points at the others.

We deliver the whole stack: the cabling in the walls, the network on top of it, the circuit coming into the building, the phone system, the servers and the support. No other vendor can offer the breadth of experience and depth of resources that Wolf Technology Group can to address your complete technology requirements — and when there is a problem, there is one number to call.

Questions towns ask

Do you work with municipalities and schools?
Yes. Wolf Technology Group has a 20+ year history providing telephony, broadband and IT solutions to business, educational institutions, and government clients.
We are still on copper lines and an old PBX. Do we have to replace everything at once?
No. Our UnifiedBX integrates with all types of carrier connections including SIP Trunks, PRI, T1 and POTS lines, so the phone system can move forward without you having to break existing carrier contracts or replace every piece at the same time.
We have no IT staff. Who fixes things?
That is what our managed IT and help desk services are for. You get proactive monitoring of critical systems plus North America-based support staff to call — at an established monthly rate, with support for all your hardware and software needs.
Our buildings are old and nobody knows where the cabling goes.
We provide cable audit and documentation services along with design-build for voice, data, video and fiber. We are a BICSI corporate member and work to BICSI and EIA/TIA standards.
What if the town office is destroyed?
We provide backup of your data and IT infrastructure in offsite data centers, so duplicate copies exist in case of fire, flood or other catastrophic loss, with an offsite copy of your infrastructure available within minutes of a failure at your primary location.
