DSCI Expands to Maine with Acquisition of Unified Technologies
PRESS RELEASE — October 7, 2014, Waltham, MA
One month after announcing an expansion into the New York City metro area, DSCI is unveiling a northward expansion. DSCI has acquired Unified Technologies, a provider of managed IT and hosted VoIP services headquartered in Portland, Maine. Through these actions, DSCI has significantly expanded its geographic footprint in a remarkably short timeframe.
Unified Technologies is Maine's most experienced provider of enterprise-grade VoIP solutions, delivering both hosted VoIP services and premises-based VoIP systems to local businesses since 2002. The company also has deep experience in IT infrastructure and service solutions, including outsourced IT management and help-desk support, enterprise network design and implementation, server and desktop virtualization, and application development.
As part of this transaction, Unified Technologies principal Todd Wolf is spinning off a new company named Wolf Technology Group. This company will immediately become a master sales agent for DSCI, and will also offer support services such as consulting, structured cabling, site surveys, field installations, WiFi networks and IP video surveillance systems.
Moving forward, all current Unified Technologies customers will continue to receive the same services they do today, either from DSCI or from Wolf Technology Group.
"Joining DSCI gives us the means to considerably expand and enhance the services we offer to our clients. They will now benefit from a full range of solutions addressing every aspect of their IT infrastructure, from unified communications to remote data backup. Most importantly, DSCI is well-known for providing excellent customer service — in fact, their customer focus was a significant factor in our decision," remarked Larry Cushing, CEO of Unified Technologies.
"DSCI's acquisition of Unified Technologies deepens our presence in the very attractive southern Maine market. Rather than enter Portland on our own, we decided to seek out a well-established local business with deep roots in the community. By working together, we can pursue new opportunities and reach new levels of success," commented Sean Dandley, President and CEO of DSCI.
